Janet Gwendolyn Jones

Janet Gwendolyn Jones, 52, the beloved daughter of Dennis F. Jones, Sr. and Gwendolyn Jones passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2005 at DeKalb Medical Center.  She is survived by her parents; and brother, Dennis F. Jones, Jr.  She grew up in the Oak Grove Community of North Decatur, graduating from Oak Grove Elementary and Lakeside High School.  Janet was a member of the First Baptist Church of Decatur, attended Georgia Southern College, and graduated from Mercer University in Macon.  After being employed as a legal secretary for several years in Macon, she moved back to Atlanta where she continued her career working for several law firms, the last one for ten years until shortly before her death.  Janet was an avid reader, enjoyed her two cats, loved music and was a big fan of The Georgia Southern Eagles and the Atlanta Falcons.  She was much loved and will be greatly missed by her many friends and family.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 15th in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons.  Dr. William T. Neal, III officiating.  Interment Floral Hills Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at A. S. Turner & Sons.
