Funeral services for Janice Williamson Harris, a longtime resident of Atlanta will be held Sunday, September 5th at 2:00PM at A. S. Turner & Sons. Mrs. Harris will be laid to rest alongside her husband in Jenkinsburg City Cemetery at 4:30PM. Mrs. Harris, 88, passed away Thursday, September 2, 2010. A native of Jackson, GA she was daughter of the late Robert T. and Eva Williamson. She was married on April 24, 1942 to John Thomas Harris of Jenkinsburg, a prominent Vice President and General Manager for the Federal Reserve Bank. They made their home in Atlanta after spending time in Athens, and Griffin, GA and Champagne, IL. She retired from Southern Bell in April, 1987 after 30 years of dedicated service. Mrs. Harris was a longtime member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church. Along with her bravery, courage, and tenacity, she had a fiery and independent, yet gentle and kind spirit. She will be missed immensely. Surviving are her son, John T. Harris; daughter, Susan Harris; granddaughter and her husband, Erica Harris Bryniarski and John Bryniarski; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends. In lieu of flowers, kindly make donations to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society or to Oak Grove United Methodist.
