Jean Hitt Ahlfinger passed away on August 28,2021.
Jean was born to Horace and Mary Ellen Hitt in Mexia, TX, on November 21, 1932. She graduated from Handley High School in Fort Worth and then attended Arlington State College.
She and her beloved husband, Bob, married in 1954 in Texas before their lives took them to Atlanta, GA, where they became active in St. Bede’s Episcopal Church.
Jean is preceded in death by her husband, Bob, her son, Kyle, her twin sister, Joan Hall, and another sister, Mary Jo Badham.
Jean is survived by her sons Randy and his wife, Candace; Keith and his wife, Jody; Mark and his wife, Kim; and Sandra, widow of Kyle. She also leaves a wonderful legacy in her grandchildren Moriah Ahlfinger, Hailey Herleman and her husband, Matt; Rob Ahlfinger and his wife, Chamica; Christa Beach and her husband, Connor; and Chase Ahlgray and his wife, Serra. Her legacy lives on through her great-grandchildren, Blaise and Laila Herleman and Viola and Gioia Ahlfinger. Jean is also survived by her niece, Vicky Goble and her husband, Greg, as well as other nieces and nephews. In addition, she leaves behind many friends whom she loved dearly.
Because the safety of her family and friends was always Jean’s priority, her celebration of life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Bede’s Episcopal Church, 2601 Henderson Mill Road, Atlanta, GA.
