Jean Naoum Komari
Jean was born on July 1, 1939 in Aleppo, Syria as a middle child of 10 children. He attended school at the American College missionary school and learned English. As an adult, he served in the Syrian military for six years. He then moved to Saudi Arabia and worked selling watches. He then continued working in this profession in Cairo for a few years before moving to the Atlanta area in 1978 where he lived with his brother Alex and his family for a few years. While living in Stone Mountain he worked at the Middle East Bakery for many years. Eventually he came to work with his brother, Alex and worked there until his retirement in 2001.
On July 1, 2023 Jean passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his close family. He was 84 years old. He is survived by his brother Samir and his wife Manar, his brother Alex and his wife Beverly, his sister, Ilham and 13 nieces and nephews.
Jean has always had a gentle and kind soul. He was generous to all. He loved children and animals, especially his cat Mimi. He was never married and did not have children, so his sisters, brothers, nieces and nephews became his focus. He was well loved and will be missed by all that knew him.
