Jeannette Snee Murphy, born in Atlanta, Georgia on July 7, 1927 passed away in Atlanta at age 91 on January 3, 2019. Jeanette was the only child of the late Daniel A. Snee, and Jennie Ellen Snee. Jeanette lived in Atlanta all her life, where she attended Sacred Heart High School and after graduation attended the University of Georgia. Thereafter, she best excelled at being a full-time homemaker while she raised six children. During this time, Jeanette was a volunteer at Egleston Children’s Hospital, and at her church, Christ the King. In her spare time, Jeanette enjoyed gardening, going to the symphony and opera, and playing bridge with her friends. Jeanette is survived by her children; John H. Murphy, Jr. (Donna), Murphy Ellen Chandler, Dana Murphy-Parker, Margaret Murphy-Johnson (Billy), Catherine Anne Murphy, and Jennie Murphy Hess (Jordan). She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Nathaniel Bion Parker. Funeral arrangements are being handled by A.S. Turner & Sons in Decatur. Services will be on Monday, January 14 at 10:30 am at Saint Thomas Moore Catholic Church in Decatur, Burial will follow at Westview Cemetery. The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to Egleston Children’s Hospital at Emory.
