Jeffrey L. Pracht

Jeff Pracht passed away on Thursday, July 24, 2014 after suffering complications due to a long term battle with a neurodegenerative disease, spinocerebellar ataxia. Jeff was predeceased by his father Donald L. Pracht and, most recently, his mother Janet F. Pracht (Aten) of Clayton, NY and aunt, Marilyn J. Aten, PhD of Penfield, NY. He is survived by his sister, Leigh A. Pracht (Maureen P. Madden) of Eldersburg, MD; nephew, Christopher Nole Madden; aunt, Nettie Pracht; and cousins, Alan and Daryl Pracht. After graduating Fayetteville-Manlius High School in Manlius NY in 1976, Jeff received a BA in Computer Science from SUNY Potsdam in 1981. He moved to Decatur, Georgia in 1991 and worked as a database administrator for several firms, most recently Computer Sciences Corporation. Jeff was known to be a funny, good natured, kind person - willing to help others, frequently unwilling to accept help from others as he was determined not to let this disease get the best of him.
