At the age of 87, Jere Beverly Tate of Tucker, Georgia went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 14th, 2025.
Jere was born on January 11th, 1938, in Nashville, Tennessee to the late John B Jr. and Sara Cobb.
Jere is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Jim Tate; son, Kevin Tate (Denise), daughter, Allison Lynch (Dale); three grandchildren, Leah Lynch; Laura Newman (Andrew) and Nicholas Tate; her sister, Carol Rochford (John) and several nieces and nephews.
Jere was a graduate of Vanderbilt University, majoring in English. Following graduation Jere taught in Tennessee and New Jersy before becoming a full-time mother. Among her outside interests and involvement was her membership in Daughters of the American Revolution and the Jamestowne Society. Jere was a hard worker, smart, generous, caring and strong-willed. She loved her friends, her family, and her Lord. Jere was a dedicated Christian and for many years taught young children in Bible Class. She was a former member of the Snellville Church of Christ and in recent years the Buford Church of Christ.
Family and friends will gather at A.S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home & Crematory, 2773 N Decatur Rd Decatur, GA 30033, Wednesday April 9th, 2025, from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM. A celebration of life Service will begin at 2:00 in the chapel of A.S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens, 3150 Lawrenceville HWY Tucker, GA 30084.
