Jerome Allen “Jerry” Gorby, beloved and adored husband, father and grandfather, 91, of Chamblee, GA passed away Monday, February 22, 2010. Born in Oak Park, IL on April 29, 1918 to Charles and Esther Gorby, Jerry graduated from Miami of Ohio with a Business Administration degree, and subsequently served in the Army Air Corps in WWII. In 1945, Jerry began his 37 year career at AT&T. On June 18, 1955, he married the love of his life, Hannah B. Durham of Pineville, KY and they had three daughters, Cheryl, Kim and Bev. He is survived by his wife; daughters and sons-in-law, Cheryl and Greg Lawler, Kim and David Stegall, Bev and Artie Odom; grandchildren, Emily and Blake Goss, Chris and Mary Beth Lawler, Sarah, Jessie and Missy Harris, Kate Stegall, Miranda and Jared Odom; and great grandson, Gavin Goss. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 24th at 1 p.m. in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Northeast Baptist Church, 4046 Chamblee Tucker Rd., Atlanta, GA 30340. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, February 23rd at A. S. Turner & Sons
