Jerry E. Etheridge, 72, died December 11, 2014. He was a lifelong resident of Atlanta, having graduated from Decatur High School in 1960, and later, Woodrow Wilson Law School. He spent 18 years at Kemper Insurance, developing lifelong friendships. He later worked at Ohio Casualty Insurance. He was married to Marianne (Cottle) for 35 years, with whom he had two daughters that he loved dearly; Amy Michelle and Ashley Etheridge. He has twin granddaughters, Macie Nicole and Madison Marie Hightower. He was predeceased by his father, Emmitt Etheridge, and mother, Katherine Turner Etheridge, and nephew, John A. Morgan, Jr. He is survived by his wife, daughters, and granddaughters, as well as his sister, Mary Helen Morgan (John), brother Roger W. Etheridge, nephew Adam Morgan (Stephanie) and niece and nephews. Jerry's passion in life was pitching softball. He played on the Question Marks for thirty years and the Kemper Insurance team. He was also on several bowling leagues, and enjoyed playing cards at lunch with his friends at Kemper. Visitation will be Sunday from 1-3PM, with services Monday at 2PM at A. S.
