Jerry L. Benefield

Jerry L. Benefield, 58, of Tucker, GA died Sunday, September 4, 2005. Services will be held in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 7th with Rev. James Gunderman, Jr. officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. in the College Park Cemetery in College Park, GA. Mr. Benefield was a mortgage banker who for twenty-nine years was a sponsor and mentor in the program of Alcoholics Anonymous. Survivors include children, Shane Benefield of Atlanta and his mother Vicky Benefield of Tucker, Hugh Ransel of Atlanta and his mother Sandy Ransel of Las Vegas, Brice Benefield, Blake Benefield, Shelby Benefield and their mother Mary Benefield of Decatur; mother, Martha Williams Benefield of Kennesaw; brother, Mr. & Mrs. Barry Benefield (Jo Ann); and nieces, Mary Ann Foster (Tim) and Melanie Gunderman (Jimmy) of Atlanta, GA. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at A.S. Turner & Sons, Decatur, GA.
