Jewel M. Lively, 71, died on March 17th at her home in Decatur following a short illness and Parkinson's Disease. She was born on May 24, 1944 in Clinton, South Carolina to the late George W. and Josie Taylor Stewart. Due to the early death of her parents she spent her growing up years at Thornwell Orphanage, a home and school for children in Clinton. She is survived by her husband, David Lively; her two children, Angela Maddox and Joey Maddox; her three grandchildren, Lisa Maddox, April McLoyd and Kyle Maddox; and her sister, Jeri Field and her husband, Dudley in Marietta, GA. She gave over 30 years to her job at the Georgia Retardation Center as a Respiratory Therapy Technician. She loved her work and the children she worked with there.
