Jill Alyson Stewart

December 11, 1963 — May 7, 2018

On Monday, May 7, 2018, exactly forty-six years after Jill gave her life to Jesus, Julia (Jill) Alyson Kelley Stewart, 54, passed into eternal life surrounded by her loving family. She was a cherished wife, mother, daughter and friend who will be missed by many. Her infectious smile and her sparkling blue eyes provided a glimpse of her beautiful soul.

Jill was born in Atlanta on December 11, 1963. She graduated from Stone Mountain High School and Brenau University. After graduation she began working with Emory Alliance Credit Union with her career culminating as the Vice President of Marketing.

Her future husband, Mickey Stewart and Jill worked together at Stone Mountain State Park following high school. In 2002, Mickey contacted Jill after seeing her name in the alumni directory of Brenau University. After their first date, Jill knew she would marry Mickey. They were married on March 8, 2003 at Scott Blvd. Baptist Church in Decatur, just as she had predicted. Their joy was extended when Jill found that they were expecting their son, Thomas Michael Stewart, who was born on January 29, 2004.

Because of Jill's love of her Savior, she discovered her gift of service. She cared for her father during his long battle with cancer. Her special gift allowed her to make those in her presence feel joy, love and acceptance. In addition to the unconditional love she gave her husband, son and father, she cherished her mother, brother, sisters and dear friends. All of these people formed the loving relationships Jill cultivated throughout her life. There was not a day that went by that Jill did not do something for someone else. Jill spent many years volunteering at Scott Blvd Baptist Church and served countless hours on the board at Twin Lakes during her 4 year term, as well as serving as the Briarlake Elementary Foundation President.

Jill is preceded in death by her father, David Franklin Kelley, Sr.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas (Mickey) Stewart; son, Thomas; and her stepson, Preston. She is also survived by her mother, Laura Shubert Kelley; sisters, Kathy Houchin and Nancy Barrentine of Snellville, GA; and her brother, David Kelley of Loganville.

Mickey, Thomas, Preston and the extended family request your support, love, and prayers during this time, as well as the months to come.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Thursday May 10, 2018, at A.S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home in Decatur. A celebration of Jill's life will be held at 12 PM on Friday, May 11, 2018, at the same location. Interment will be held at Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Tucker, GA.

In lieu of flowers, Jill wanted those who loved her to consider donating to the Zach Sobiech Osteosarcoma Fund childrenscancer.org or Angels Among Us Pet Rescue at www.angelsrescue.org in her memory.

Feel free to leave the family your condolences via the guestbook provided.
