Jimmie Mills Guard

Mrs. Jimmie Mills Guard, age 90, formerly of Avondale Estates, died Wednesday, May 11, 2005. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Lafayette Mills and Essie Rhea Mills, and her husband of 53 years, Harry Ernest Guard.  Mrs. Guard is survived by her daughter, Judith Ree Guard of Alpharetta, son Charles Gary Guard, and daughter-in-law Judith Camp Guard, both of Marietta. She is lovingly remembered as ?Goam? by seven surviving grandchildren, Catherine Guard Witterman, Michael Lawrence Guard, Kimberly Williams Dore, Gregory Mark Williams, Matthew Robert Guard, Laurie Steber Benjamin, Alison Steber Foster; and 13 great-grandchildren.  A life-long resident of Atlanta, Mrs. Guard worked for the Army Depot in Conley, GA for a number of years.  She was an active member of the Baptist Church for her entire life, beginning at Kirkwood Baptist Church,and in her later years at Rainbow Park Baptist Church, where she was president of the D.O.W. Sunday School Class.  She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Chapter 223. Funeral Services will be held at Rainbow Park Baptist Church on Saturday, May 14, 2005 at 11 a.m., Dr. Frank Crumpler officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at A.S. Turner & Sons, and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the church. A. S. Turner & Sons
