Jo Ann Dean was born July 26, 1928, and was born again February 10, 1961, at age 32, after being introduced to Jesus Christ by her friend, Margaret Roth. She walked with Him for 62 years on earth. On March 14, 2023, at 94 years of age, when her earthly body gave out, she walked with Jesus into heaven. One of her favorite Bible verses was, "For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain" Philippians 1:21. She enjoyed years of teaching Bible studies, and being involved in the life of the churches she attended. She led many people to Christ over the years, and was a joyful child of God on earth.
Jo Ann received a B.S. degree in Sociology and Psychology from Auburn University after transferring from Randolph Macon Woman's College in Lynchburg, Virginia. The reason for her transfer was to be closer to LaVelle Dean who was a student at Georgia Tech. They were married September 8, 1951. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.D. Mallory of Anniston, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her husband, LaVelle Dean, after 52 years of marriage, and by her brother J.D.Mallory, Jr. She is survived by her brother, Richard Mallory, her son Mallory Dean, her daughter Charlotte Brown, grandchildren Mallory Dean, Jr., Richard Brown, Katherine Brown, and great-grandchildren Jonas Dean, and Emma Grace Dean.
