Jo Crowley was born in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Dr. Joseph B. Crowley and Lucille Swords Crowley. Jo lived her entire life in the Atlanta, Georgia area, until late in life when she moved to Beaufort, North Carolina to be near her daughter. She was very proud of her Georgia heritage.
During World War II she worked for the Selective Service in Atlanta and her late husband, John Conley Huss, always claimed she was responsible for his four years of service during World War II. Jo was a successful real estate broker for many years in Decatur, Georgia. After retirement she held many volunteer jobs including working as a guide at the Carter Center in Atlanta entertaining visiting dignitaries.
Jo had a zest for life that could not be measured. She loved music, laughter, dancing, cooking, her vegetable garden, and entertaining her friends and family. Jo embraced life to the fullest, and "old" was never measured in years, but in activities and interest's.
She is predeceased in death by her husband of 51 years, John C. Huss, her son Benjamin Blake Huss, and her daughter Joan Huss Pulley.
Left to cherish her memory are her son Rex Huss and wife Angel of McDonough, Georgia, her four grandchildren Kristina O'Mellan, Kari Raley, Trey Raley, and Genevieve Huss. She is also survived by four great grandchildren Connor and Max O'Mellan, Chase and Anna Grace Hallman.
In her honor please send Memorial contributions to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).
