Jo Faye Moore Kemp

October 27, 1933 — May 2, 2009

Mrs. Jo M. Kemp, 75, of Lawrenceville, formerly of Clarkston, GA, went to be with our Lord on Saturday, May 2, 2009.  She fought an incredibly brave battle with cancer for 4 ½ years.  Jo was a retired Senior Customer Service Manager for Southtrust Bank. She had a love for sports, cooking, travel, entertaining friends and family.  Jo was a member of North Metro First Baptist Church of Lawrenceville. She is the loving wife of Coach William (Bill) Kemp of Lawrenceville, formerly of Clarkston, and the best of all mothers to Emily and Larry Rogers of Lawrenceville, Hal and Lynn (Fickle) Kemp of Duluth, and Hugh and Carol (Pace) Kemp of Matthews, NC.  She has seven grandchildren.  Jo adored Ashley Rogers and Kirk Rogers, Chris Kemp, Haley Kemp; Alexandria Kemp, Amy Kemp, and Ross Kemp.  She is also survived by one brother and sister-in-law, Dr. William (Bill) and Mary Steinberg of Altadena, CA; and one sister, Edie Ayers of Loganville.  There are several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, whom are all so very special to Jo.  Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons with Dr. Frank Cox officiating.  Interment will be at Floral Hills Memory Gardens.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Joy For the Journey Cancer Ministry, c/o North Metro First Baptist Church, 1026 Old Peachtree Rd., Lawrenceville, GA  30043. The family will receive friends Monday from 5:30 to 8:00 P.M. and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at A. S. Turner & Sons.  (404) 292-1551
