Joan "Jo" Ferree Drymon

April 11, 1929 — May 14, 2021

Joan “Jo” Drymon, 92, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2021. She was born and raised in Hamilton, Ohio but later moved to Sarasota, Florida. She received an Associate of Arts degree from the University of Florida in Gainesville. It was there she met James “Jim” Drymon who she married just a few days after his graduation from law school in 1951. They made Sarasota their residence until Jim preceded her in death in 2000. Jo then moved to Atlanta, Georgia in 2014.

Jo was a founding member of the Junior League of Sarasota and was involved in many community organizations. She worked tirelessly as a Victims’ Rights Advisor with the State Attorney’s Office 12th Judicial Circuit for 28 years. She was also an active member of Church of the Palms.

Jo was predeceased by her husband, “Jim” Drymon, and her son, Ben Drymon. She is survived by her three children: James Douglas Drymon (Linda), Cara Jo Drymon, Darcie Drymon; daughter-in-law: Fabiola Drymon; three grandchildren: Cara Lynn Clarkson, Daniela Drymon, and Dillan Drymon; and one great-granddaughter: Abigail Aiken.

Her memorial service will be held in Sarasota at Church of the Palms on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at 11:00 AM.
