Joan Bernadette DeBaene Warrington, 70, of Avondale Estates, beloved mother, passed away Sunday, July 3, 2016. Born June 6, 1946, in Pontiac, MI, she was the daughter of the late Walter, Sr., and Selma LaCroix DeBaene. 'Joanie' spent time showing her Tennessee Walkers and was on the US Ski Patrol and as an instructor. She was an avid reader of the New York Times and other literature, and was well known for her love of fashion. In 1999, Joanie moved from Michigan to the Atlanta area to support her son, Rob, and his lighting business.
She is survived by her two sons, Rob Warrington, Jr. and his partner, Wade Hubbard, and James Warrington, Sr.; three grandchildren, James, Jr., Olivia, and Stella Warrington, and their mother, Heidi; three sisters, Mary Lee, Janice, and Diane; and many more loving family and friends. In addition to her parents, Joanie was preceded in death by her brother, Walter DeBaene, Jr.; and the father of her children, Robert Warrington, Sr.
A celebration of life will be held from 5 - 8 p.m. Saturday, August 27, at Solaria Lighting, 2947 E Ponce De Leon Ave, Decatur, GA 30030.
The family will be holding a Mass at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, and a Celebration of Life in the Conservatory at the Royal Park Hotel in Rochester, MI, both on Friday, September 2, 2016. Joanie will be laid to rest at Mt. Avon Cemetery, Rochester, MI. Services will also be held in Atlanta at a date to be determined.
