JoAnn Sybil Freeman
JoAnn Sybil Freeman, 86, of Decatur, Georgia, passed away peacefully at her home on June 28th, 2024. She was born in Sparta, Georgia, to the late John C. Johnson and Evelyn Johnson on October 3, 1937. She is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Alton H. Freeman, Jr., and her great-granddaughter, Hannah Belle Andresen.
She is survived by her brother, Carlton (Rita) Johnson of Winder, Georgia; her children, Kenny (Bari) Freeman of Buckhead, Georgia, Pam Kull (Randy Diehl) of McDonough, Georgia, Jean (Ken) Nunnally of Marietta, Georgia; her grandchildren, Chris (Rene') Freeman, Andrea (Nate) Buckles, Chad (Danielle) Freeman, Julie (Justin) Andresen, Jonathan (Rebecca) Folger, Lauren Opstad (Zach Setzer), Alli Freeman, Elizabeth (Chandler) Smith; and 8 great-grandchildren.
JoAnn was a master gardener; most days could be found working in her yard among all the flowers she loved and adored. She was a lover of many outdoor activities. JoAnn was an active member of Eastside Baptist Church in Conyers, Georgia, where she had a large church family that she loved. She was a devout Christian her entire life. She had no greater love than her precious dog, Felix, who was with her to the end of her beautiful life.
Even as we celebrate her life, we will forever mourn her loss. All of us who love her will truly miss her!
There will be a visitation from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM with a service at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 3rd, here at A.S. Turner Funeral Home, after which we will proceed to Crestlawn Memorial Park for the burial.
