Mrs. Joanne Andrews Laffoday passed away January 27, 2014 at Hospice Atlanta in Atlanta, Georgia. She was born Joanne Dillard Andrews on June 24, 1930 in Columbia, South Carolina. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Newell Zebulon Andrews. She was united in marriage to Dr. Samuel Kanada Laffoday on June 3, 1950 in Columbia, South Carolina. Mrs. Laffoday was predeceased by her loving and devoted husband Dr. Samuel K. Laffoday who died January 15, 2008. She is survived by her brother Newell Zebulon Andrews, her children: Samuel K. Laffoday Jr., Jennifer A. Laffoday, Nina L. Cytulski with her husband George M. Cytulski, and Charles T. Laffoday with his spouse R. Eric Vasquez. She is survived by two grandchildren, Maxwell J. Cytulski and Samuel K. Cytulski with his fiancée Jordan R. Templeton. Mrs. Laffoday was the class valedictorian of Manning High School in Manning, South Carolina. She attended both Winthrop College and The South Carolina Business College before meeting and marrying her beloved husband. She had been an active member of The United Methodist Church and The DeKalb College Women's Club. She reveled in her capacity as a loving mother, loving wife and loving grandmother. Her endearing qualities of grace, refinement, compassion, and empathy can only be engendered by a term whose understanding is now almost extinct: a lady. A funeral service celebrating her life will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday February 1, 2014 which is located at Newman Swamp Church, 1037 Lee State Park Rd. Lamar, SC.
