Joanne Lindsey

Mrs. Betty Joanne Lindsey, 76, of Douglasville, GA, died Monday, May 26, 2008.  She was born in Newnan, GA to Neb Davis and Goldie Davis on September 27, 1931.  Mrs. Lindsey was a longtime member of the Mableton Moose Lodge #1216.  She loved fishing, working in her vegetable garden and working in her rose garden.  She was a wonderful cook and never met a stranger. Mrs. Lindsey was preceded in death by her daughter, Wendy Humphreys.  Mrs. Lindsey is survived by her daughters, Charlsie Roper of Buford, GA, Phyllis Poolos of Atlanta, GA, Angela Winter of  Carrollton, GA; sons, William Humphreys of Eatonton, GA, Wade Dooley of Douglasville, GA; four step-daughters, Faye, Judy, Barbara, and Jewel; brothers, Charles Davis of Christian City, GA, Duke Davis of Newnan, GA; sisters, Marion Horne of Port Charlotte, FL, Shirley Mason of Louisville, TN; eight grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.  Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 4th with Dr. Frank H. Crumpler officiating. Interment Georgia Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 P.M. Tuesday evening at A. S. Turner & Sons.
