Yarbrough (deceased), Mother to Calvin (wife: Patti), Jeff (wife: Kim) and Don Yarbrough (wife: Mary), Daughter to Jesse and Lucille Haralson (deceased), Sister to Jimmy Haralson (deceased) and Gayle Coombs, Grandmother to Chad Yarbrough (wife: Mandy), Chelsea McDonald (husband: Kirk), Silas Yarbrough (wife: Bethany), Rebecca Yevick (husband: Joseph) and Zachary Yarbrough and Great Grandmother to Caleigh & Chandler Yarbrough, Lydia and Tali McDonald and Aunt to several Nephews and Nieces.
Joe Ann, a full time Mother and Home Maker upon the birth of her firstborn had worked at Sears Roebuck and Motorola where she met her husband: Mack Yarbrough. Mack continued his career and retired with Sears Roebuck while Joe Ann stayed home to raise their three boys: Calvin, Jeff and Don.
Joe Ann grew up in Decatur, Georgia of DeKalb County, attended Decatur High School, married Mack, had children, moved to Gresham Park of DeKalb County, relocated to Snellville, Georgia, of Gwinnett County, moved to McDonough, Georgia of Henry County and finally relocated back to Decatur, Georgia of DeKalb County to live with her Best Female Friend (BFF): Joyce Garmon.
Joe Ann has been the faithful spouse, the family servant and the friend’s supporter throughout life (with her closest friends being like family). Born May 31, 1934, Joe Ann physically died on September 6, 2019.
Former member of Decatur Heights Baptist Church, First Baptist Snellville, Metro Heights, Second Baptist Griffin with present membership at Salem Baptist Church, McDonough, GA. Joe Ann’s achievements and accolades are best celebrated by the way she served her family and supported her friends. Her “constant” throughout life has been a purposed and personal provision of help and assistance to family and friends with an unwavering conviction to “mother” her children and grandchildren to the best of her ability.
Friends will remember Joe Ann for her support, her sarcasms, her smiles and her simple ways of sharing in their life and showing her love.
Joe Ann’s Memorial Service will be located at A.S Turner and Sons Funeral Home in Decatur, GA, of DeKalb County with the service being conducted by her sons and Rev. Rick Statham.
Visitation is Sunday 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm with Memorial Service Monday at 2:00 pm (A.S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home of Decatur, GA.)
