Joe Morris Allen

Joe Morris Allen, Sr., born in Clay County Alabama, October 26, 1914, died November 18, 2007. He served in North Africa and Italy during World War II. He was a member of the Keystone Bible Class, Decatur First United Methodist Church. Mr. Allen graduated from Atlanta Law School in 1949 and became a member of the Georgia Bar. He retired from the Office of Inspector General 'USDA' and practiced law in Decatur. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Ruth M. Allen, and daughter, Patricia Fennell. He is survived by daughters Kathie Lunsford, Alpharetta, Georgia; Lucy Hart, Harper, Texas; Rosemary Allen, Atlanta, Georgia; sons Dr. Joe M. Allen, Jr., Cairo, Georgia; George Allen, Lilburn, Georgia; and John Allen, Decatur , Georgia; 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 21, 2007 at 10:30A.M.at First United Methodist Church, Decatur. Senior Minister Rev. David S. Naglee, Bishop Bevel Jones, and Rev. Dr. Joe Allen, Jr. officiating. Interment Floral Hills Memory Gardens. In Lieu of flowers, those desiring may send contributions to American Cancer Society. Family will receive friends from 7 to 9 P .M.
