Joel C. Herndon

Mr. Joel Cecil Herndon of Stone Mountain died Thursday, December 25, 2008. Mr. Herndon retired from REA Express in 1975. He was a member of Sardis Lodge, #444 F. & A. M. in Chamblee and the First Baptist Church of Doraville. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Satterfield Herndon; son, William Joel Herndon; and grandson, William Charles Herndon. Mr. Herndon is survived by granddaughters, Lynn  Sullivan and her husband Mark of Dallas, TX, Jennifer Leigh Herndon of Buford, GA; nephew, William B Cody and his wife Missy of Stone Mountain; niece, Elaine Cody Hummel; four great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Funeral services will be held in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons at 2 p.m. Friday, January 2nd.  The family will receive friends from 12 Noon until 2 p.m. on Friday at A. S. Turner & Sons.
