Joel Stephen Burgess

Joel (Joey) Stephen Burgess age 64 of Decatur passed away December 22, 2022. Joey was a loving son, brother and uncle who will be greatly missed. He was retired from the DeKalb County Roads and Drainage department after 30 years of service.

Joey was preceded in death by his parents, Robert T. (Bobby) Burgess, Sr. and Betty Burgess. He is survived by brother and sister-in-law, Robert T. (Bobby) Burgess, Jr., Kathy Burgess; brother, David Burgess; nieces and nephews, Erica, Jessica, Rebecca, Melanie, Savannah, Georgia, Jackson and Preston; great nieces and nephews, Gisele, Cash and Jacqueline.

A funeral service will be held Friday, December 30, 2022 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of A.S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home and Crematory. Interment will be in Melwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, December 30, 2022 from 12:00 pm -2:00 pm at the funeral home. A.S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
