John Alford Jones

John Alford Jones died March 14, 2014. He was born in Atlanta, GA on November 29, 1922 and was 91 years old. He graduated from Decatur Boys High, attended North Georgia College and graduated from Emory University and Navy Supply Corp. School as Ensign. He served in the Navy Supply Corp. and was stationed in Okinawa in World War II. After the war he worked for Bell South in Georgia and South Carolina until retirement. He is survived by Jimmie Persons Jones, his wife for 69 years: their three children: Alan Jones, Carol McCorvey, and Linda Brigham; and six grandchildren: Matt Jones, Liz Brewer, David McCorvey, Scott McCorvey, Greg Brigham, and Laura Defoor. Funeral services will be handled by A.S. Turner and Sons, Decatur, GA.
