John Anderson Rutledge

December 16, 1924 — February 18, 2013

John Anderson Rutledge, Jr. passed away on February 18, 2013. John served his country during WWII as a Staff Sergeant with the 110th General Hospital in England. He was a Baptist Deacon for over 60 years, serving in several churches on many committees and as a Sunday School teacher to Junior Boys. John graduated from Miami University in Oxford, OH and Woodrow Wilson College of Law. He retired from Plantation Pipeline Company after a career of 40 years. He is survived by his wife, Mary Jo Vickery Rutledge; daughter and son-in-law, Terri Rutledge Moore and Ron Moore; son and daughter-in-law, Perry and Dixie Rutledge; granddaughters, Blakely Moore York and her husband, Wes, Heather Rutledge Smith and her husband, Matt; grandson, Patrick Rutledge Moore; four great grandchildren, Ashton, Collin and Embry York and Madelynn Smith; and brother, Nelson D. Rutledge and his wife, Florence. The family requests that those desiring send contributions to First Baptist Church of Tucker or Greater Atlanta Christian School.
