John C. Parris

John C. Parris, 75, a longtime resident of Stone Mountain died Sunday, December 26, 2010. Mr. Parris graduated from Decatur High School, Class of 1953 and Georgia State University. Her served in the United States Marine Corps for 2 years and was a member of the American Legion Post 66, Avondale Estates and the Atlanta Northlake Elks Lodge # 78. Mr. Parris, a quintessential southern gentleman is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Pauline Parris; granddaughter, McKenzie Parris; grandson, Dustin Parris all of Jackson; sister, Ida Parris Thompson of Spartanburg, SC; and nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 28th at one o'clock at A. S. Turner & Sons. Interment Historic Stone Mountain City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Salvation Army USA Southern Territory, 1424 Northeast Expressway, Atlanta, GA 30329. Friends are invited to visit with the family Tuesday from noon until the hour of service at A. S. Turner & Sons.
