On December 2, 2008, the sun set on the life of John David Pilgrim. The well-loved man known to friends as “Johnny,” and “Imotele,” age 79, died peacefully at his home in Stone Mountain, Georgia. John leaves behind to celebrate his life, his wife Claudina Adina Pilgrim; his three children, David Ricardo Pilgrim, Tina Colette Pilgrim, and Lisa Zanetta Addams-Pilgrim; his step-daughter, Monica Theresa Antoine; his sister, Althea Sealy and his brother, Archie St. Clair Pilgrim; all of their spouses; his grandchildren, Khadijah, Dionesia, Niguel, and Khalil; his great-grandson, Imari; nieces and nephews, Leslie “G.P.” Pilgrim, Kimya Hodari-Allen, Kamau and Zaneta Hodari, Valerie Pilgrim Bell-bey, Chanda Pilgrim, and Sunanda Reid; sister-in-law Phyllis Williams, cousins, and scores of very good friends. John David Pilgrim was pre-deceased by his brother Leslie Gordon Pilgrim and his sister Glenn Ballantyne. Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 7th, Dr. Derrick Rhodes officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 to 2 p.m. Sunday prior to the service at A. S. Turner & Sons, 2773 N. Decatur Rd., Decatur, GA 30033.
