John F. R. Kuck, Ph.D.

John F.R. Kuck, Ph.D, died August 4, 2011. His health declined steadily after a fall in December 2010. He was 93 years old. His survivors include his wife Kathryn, his five children Kay Helen, Jack, Martha, Andy and Mary. Other survivors include his only grandson, David. His only surviving sibling is Joan Harris of Virginia Beach, VA.
Dr. Kuck moved close to Emory University in 1963 when he joined the new Research Program in the Department of Ophthalmology. He retired from Emory in 1988 and then served as Visiting Professor at Georgia Tech. for five years. The family is grateful for the companionate service of VistaCare Hospice. A memorial service will be held August 20 at 10 a.m. at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 515 East Ponce de Leon Avenue, Decatur, GA 30030. In lieu of flowers donations to the Centennial Scholarship Fund would be appreciated. These funds educate students for the ministry. A.S. Turner and Sons, Decatur, GA.
