John George Marinos

March 23, 1926 — August 28, 2014

John G. Marinos, 88, of Lilburn Ga, passed on to the Lord August 28, 2014. Born in Atlanta, GA March 23, 1926 to George and Fannie Marinos Known as John, Johnny, Papou and Daddy. The eldest of 5 children. A decorated servant of his country during WWII in the United States Army, he later received a perfect attendance record for his employment service of over 25 years with GM Corp. A faithful Orthodox Christian, he offered his talents of woodworking to the Atlanta Cathedral. An active member of the Danaos Society and breakfast club affectionately known as, The Goofs. An avid hunter, fisherman, craftsmen and cook, John's greatest love was nourishing others with his passion for Greek and American cuisine. His legacy of love continues in the hearts of his beloved Wife, Helga Marinos Adoring Children: Terisa, Michael, Deborah and Monica. Loving Grandchildren: Christopher and Alexcea Great Grandchildren: James, Liana and Brynn. Sisters: Francis and Marie. The 'Texas Fam, Respective spouses; Gigi, Gene and Bernadette. And his sweet beloved pet, Bella. A simple man with the heart of a servant, his priorities were family and living in the spirit of forgiveness. We honor the rich heritage he brought to our lives through many years of passionate and faithful living. May his memory be eternal. Prayer Services to be held Monday, September 1, 2014 5-7p.m. A.S.
