John Glenn Carmichael

September 10, 1943 — December 22, 2017

John Glenn Carmichael, aged 74, of Atlanta, GA, and Cragsmoor, NY, died on Friday morning Dec. 22, 2017. He had been in hospice care for a few months at Orchard at Tucker after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease. John attended LaGrange College and graduated from Georgia State with a degree in Business Administration.
John was born on September 10, 1943, in Atlanta, GA. He worked in the paper industry for many years at International Paper Company, American Can and James River, all in the NYC area. He was a talented artist who produced intricate ink drawings which he then rendered as silk screens that he exhibited and sold. He was a collector of Art, particularly the artists of the Hudson River School who lived in Cragsmoor, NY, where his turn of the century home was located.
He is survived by his sister Julie Anne Curtis (Richard), brother Paul Dale Carmichael (Christine), as well as many loving dear friends in Atlanta and Cragsmoor. He is also survived by his niece Stacy Fletcher, nephews Chad and Josh Carmichael, and six grand nieces and nephews.
