Mr. John H. Cunningham, 88, of Atlanta, died Sunday, December 12, 2010. He graduated high school from Berry Academy in Rome, GA. Mr. Cunningham was a highly decorated World War II US Air Corps veteran, who flew 50 combat missions. After the war, he earned his architectural degree from Georgia Tech and owned his own architectural firm for more than 50 years, specializing in banks and commercial buildings. Mr. Cunningham also authored 3 books and was an avid sailor and farmer. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Rose Cunningham; daughters, Valerie (Robert) Cahill, Marcelle (Jean-Luc) Rousseau; grandchildren, John Ryan, Ashley Anne; sisters, Eleanor Harper, Louise Wubbena; and brother, Wayne Cunningham. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 18, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Intown Community Church with Rev. Philip Gold officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Berry Academy.
