John Jay Johnson

John Jay Johnson of Avondale Estates, Georgia, age 89, passed away on Monday, January 14, 2008. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lee, and is survived by his sister, Naomi Rudy, of Huntingdon, PA. Jay served in World War II in the Cavalry in Europe. He was a graduate of Yale Divinity School and served as an Episcopalian priest in the Diocese of Long Island, NY. After moving to Atlanta, he graduated from law school. Jay was an avid horseman into his mid-eighties and had a profound love for all animals. A memorial mass will be held at the Church of the Epiphany, 2089 Ponce de Leon Avenue, Decatur, GA on January 24, 2008 at 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to PAWS Atlanta.
