John Kral

Mr. John Kral, 79, of Decatur died Monday, August 10,2009 from Multiple Myeloma cancer. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War aboard a LST ship. Mr. Kral was born in the Czech Republic and considered it to be his homeland, although he was a proud American. Mr. Kral was an engineer in 3 disciplines: Electrical, Mechanical and Instrumentation. He worked at several engineering firms in Atlanta but the last 8 years of his career, he had his own successful engineering business. Mr. Kral retired in 1996 and spent many hours on his wood working hobby which he enjoyed sharing with others. Mr. Kral is survived by his wife of 41 years, Vivian Suhr Kral; son, Gregory Kral of Clermont, FL; daughter and son-in-law, Holly and Clea Joye of Lawrenceville, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Natalie and Mike Adan of Stone Mountain, GA; granddaughters, Lindsey Joye, Lilly Adan and Ava Adan; brother, Frank Kral of Cheboygan, MI; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at 10:00am Thursday, August 13th at A. S. Turner & Sons, 2773 N. Decatur Rd., Decatur, GA 30033, followed by the funeral in the chapel at 11:00 am. Interment will be at Floral Hills Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of John Kral to the Multiple Myeloma Foundation or to Hospice Atlanta.
