John Lamb Milledge

John Lamb Milledge, age 73, of Buford, Ga, passed away on June 25, 2022, of complications following surgery.  John was a native Atlantan who graduated from Briarcliff High School in 1966 and West Georgia College in 1971.  He was an 8^th generation native Georgian, lifelong Atlanta resident, and was a direct descendant of Thomas Milledge, who arrived with James Oglethorpe and the first group of Georgia settlers in 1733.  His 3^rd great grandfather, John Milledge, was governor of Georgia from 1802-1805.  

John was preceded in death by his parents, John Milledge Jr., and Doris Lamb Milledge.  He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Debby Adams Milledge; his son David John Milledge (Yadira Rivera); 2 sisters Ann Milledge Clayton and June Milledge Overton (Lynn); 5 grandchildren: Jackie and Johnny Milledge, Melvin Contreras (Diana), Heidi Contreras Ochoa (Brandon), and Melany Contreras; 2 great grandchildren: Angel Contreras and Jacob Ochoa; sister-in-law Clare Adams Jones (Larry); nieces: Heather Stripling, Heidi Massey, Lisa Bryan, Allison Ritter, and Erin Coram; and nephew Jay Prince.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, June 30, 2022 from 12pm-2pm at A.S. Turner Funeral Home, 2773 North Decatur Rd, Decatur, Ga 30033.  A graveside service will follow in Decatur Cemetery.
