John Paul Chatfield, Sr., 85, of Stone Mountain died Tuesday February 1, 2011. John was a veteran of World War II having proudly served his country as a pilot in the Army Air Corps and was employed with the State of Georgia in the Department of Industry, Trade & Tourism for almost 20 years. John was known thru out the state for his work ethic and leadership in bringing industry and tourism into Georgia. He loved golf, music, the Braves, aviation, the beach, good food and his wife and family. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Kathleen Crumbley Chatfield, son, John Paul Chatfield, Jr., daughter, Lee Anne Chatfield James; grandson, J. Jackson James, Jr., and his great-grandson, Bryce James. Memorial services will be held 7:00 pm Saturday February 19, 2011 at St. Timothy UMC, 5365 Memorial Dr., Stone Mountain, GA 30083. A.S.
