John William Jackson (Bill/Billy), age 62 of Powder Springs, formerly of Decatur, passed away peacefully on November 30, 2017. Bill was born in North Carolina, but spent most of his life in the Atlanta/Decatur area. He was an iron worker for the Atlanta Iron Workers Local 387. He also worked as a stage hand for many local concert events in Atlanta. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary “Sue” Ramsey and father, John William Jackson.
He is survived by his brother, Bobby Jackson & wife, Terry, Powder Springs,GA; sister, Barbara Thompson & fiancé, Felix Blankenship, Buford, GA; daughter, Mindy, Decatur, GA; and many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncle and cousins.
A “Homegoing Celebration and Dinner” will be cancelled due to the weather and will be rescheduled. The services will be in the Fellowship Hall at Trinity Chapel, 4665 Macland Rd, Powder Springs, GA 30127. A private ceremony and Interment will follow at a later date at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA.
