Johnnie Belle Mcwilliams

Johnnie McWilliams was born on April 23, 1934 at Grady Memorial Hospital and died October 13, 2009 at Grady Memorial Hospital. She was the fifth of six children born to the late John Lawson McWilliams and the late Ethel King McWilliams. She had three older brothers, one older sister and one younger brother. She attended Atlanta Public Schools and graduated from Sylvan Hills High School in 1953. She retired as an officer after 37 years service with First Atlanta Bank, formerly First National Bank of Atlanta and now Wachovia. She was past president of Regency Chapter of ABWA and was one year their Women of the Year and was a member of Jamestown Chapter of AARP. Funeral services will be in the chapel of A. S Turner & Sons Funeral Home on Friday, October 16th at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. William E. Sperry officiating. Interment will be at Eastview Cemetery on the lot with her parents.  Her survivors are sister, Sarah M. Grainger of Atlanta; and brothers, James L. McWilliams, widower of Betty Sue Waddell, of Dunwoody; Coley J. McWilliams and wife Sandra of Jonesboro; and Harold G. McWilliams of Atlanta. She has one brother and his wife both deceased, R. Carlton McWilliams, Sr. and Betty Hart McWilliams. Aunt Johnnie was greatly loved and respected by her niece, nephews, grand nephews and grand nieces. Nephews are Greg Grainger and his wife Sally of Brentwood, TN; Jacob P. McWilliams, Sr. and his wife Cynthia of Martinez, and R. C. (Chip) McWilliams, Jr. and his wife Kristin of Tyrone, and her niece is Robyn M. Cobb and her husband Joe of Peachtree City. Grand nephews are J. Paul McWilliams, Jr. and his wife Jennifer, Joe McWilliams, David McWilliams, David Grainger, Jonathan Grainger, Daniel Cobb, and R. Carlton McWilliams, III. Grand nieces are Rachel Cobb and Ellison McWilliams. She is also survived by six cousins on her father's side and two on her mother's side, and many past co-workers and other friends. The family will receive friends and relatives on Thursday, Oct 15th from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at A. S. Turner & Sons
