Mrs. Johnnie Thompson Bess Franklin, age 81, of Stone Mountain, GA passed away Sunday, July 11, 2010. She retired from Southern Bell after 37 years of service and was a faithful member of Rehoboth Baptist Church in Tucker. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a friend to all that knew her. Mrs. Franklin was preceded in death by her four brothers, three sisters; and her former husband, and the father of her fur children, James D. Franklin. Surviving are her children, Teresa and Scott Carter, Griffin, GA, Dorinda and David Smith, Loganville, GA, Tam and Brent Goulding, Greer, SC, Jimmy and Kim Franklin, Buford, GA; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and several special nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at 11:00 A. M. in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons. Burial will be in the Old Peachtree Road Cemetery in Suwanee, GA. The family will receive friends Monday from 2:00 to 8:00 P.M. at A. S. Turner & Sons.
