Jon Eric Slate

Jon “Eric” Slate, age 60, of Tucker, Georgia passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 25, 2021, where he battled cancer for four years.
Eric worked in both the telecommunications and construction industry, he was a man of many talents. He was a current employee with UPS (Doraville Hub), he loved his job and worked with amazing people. He cared for other’s more than himself, he was always there when someone needed help, and declining a request was never an option. Eric loved to work on projects around the house, and was a tremendous gardener. Eric also loved sports, primarily his Georgia Bulldogs, but he was also a fan of baseball and NASCAR. He had a heart of gold, and was loved by so many people. Eric will be dearly missed but I’m sure he would want us to all know that he’s watching over us and smiling his very contagious smile.
He was predeceased by his Father Howard Hewitt Slate (2009) and his brother Leslie Michael “Mike” Slate (2008). He was survived by his wife, Susan Vander Meer-Slate of Tucker, GA; his Mother Mary Slate of Panama City Beach, Florida; his sister, Cherie Dorfman of Panama City Beach, Florida; his daughters, Kayla Frankenfield and Erika Taylor; nieces, Kristin Slate, Cheri’e Dorfman and Stacie Dorfman, and his aunt and uncle, Gordenia and Jerome Murdoch. Also, his beloved dog’s Bennie and Roxie.
So also you have sorrow now, but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you. John 16:22
There will not be any visitation or memorial service.
