Mr. Joseph (Joe) Franklin Dickson of Tucker died Friday, January 11, 2008. Joseph served in the Air Force from 1951-1960. During that time he was deployed to Japan and Germany. While home on leave in 1956 he married his lifelong friend, Norma Newport. Norma became his wife of 51 years. After settling down with his wife he began a career as a commercial finance loan officer, and later he became active in commercial real estate property management and financial consulting. In his last business venture he was a partner and manager of a personal care home in Seneca, South Carolina. In his final years as manager he was honored by the state senate of South Carolina for his loving dedication to the residents of his home. Norma and Joe had two children, Doug 39 and Dana who passed in 2001 at 36. Norma and Joe have lived in Tucker, GA since 1964. Joe was a loving father, husband and grandfather who was always ready to help out friends and family. He was well known for his sharp, dry wit and his compassion for those in need. He expressed his love through actions--unsolicited handyman work, thoughtful advice, and generosity. His quiet selfless loyalty will be missed by many. He is survived by his wife Norma; son, Doug; daughter-in-law Lisa; grandson, Brooks; and sister, Emma Chambers. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 15th in the chapel of A. S.
