Joseph Domain, 86 of Atlanta, passed away January 1, 2013. He was born March 31, 1926, to Mike and Martha Domain, originally of Batroun, Lebanon. He is survived by sisters, Labibie Azar and Karemy Jacobs, sister-in-law, Catherine Domain and his nephews and nieces in GA, LA, SC and FL. After graduating from Commercial High School he joined the US Army. After being honorably discharged, he tried banking and then established a career in commercial real estate. He was active with his baseball buddies, his hunting club, his philanthropic activities and his vacation trips with Mike Fa-kouri and Virgil Tillander. He valued his friends and family more than any possession and retained their love. He was generous with all and loved by all. As his health deteriorated, he found great pleasure in being with his family, especially going target shooting with his nephew, Gary. He was known for his love of this country and his advocacy for upholding the Constitution of the U.S. and the Second Amendment. He belonged to St. Elias Antiochian Orthodox Church, and though during his sickness he didn't attend, he had around his desk pieces of paper in his own writing of the song, "Amazing Grace," and this: Jesus is mine. I am forgiven. I'm going to heaven. For I have found a Wonderful Savior Who blesses me forever. I am His and, thank God, He is mine." Then he had this prayer, "Bless this food, which I am about to receive from Thy bounty, Lord Jesus Christ. Amen." He made his home his place of prayer and kept God's word before him. We thank God, that of all his accomplishments, the greatest is that when he closed his eyes, he was received by the Lord Jesus into His love and healing. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Friday, January 4th at St. Elias Antiochian Orthodox Church. Interment, Westview Cemetery. Please, in lieu of flowers, make donations to St. Elias Antiochian Orthodox Church, 2045 Ponce de Leon Avenue, N.E., Atlanta, GA 30307. The family will receive friends this evening (Thursday) at the church from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. A. S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home.
