Joseph Frambes Dicks, 65, of Decatur died peacefully in his home on Friday, April 24, 2015 after a five-year struggle with multiple myeloma. Born in Atlanta, Georgia, Joe was the son of Sarah Elizabeth Hurd and Harold Frambes Dicks. He graduated from Butler High School in Huntsville, Alabama, earned a Bachelor's degree in architecture from Auburn University, and practiced architecture for almost 40 years, 32 years as sole proprietor of Joseph Dicks Architect in Decatur. Joe loved architecture, the outdoors, his family, and his God. He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. Survivors include his wife of almost 33 years, Anne Hardee; his three children, Elizabeth (Chris) Carroll of New Orleans, LA, Nathan (Sarah) Dicks of Cambridge, MA, and Benjamin (Caroline) Dicks of Chattanooga, TN; his brother, Donald Dicks of Houston, TX; and his sister Nancy Dicks of San Antonio, TX. The family will receive visitors at A. S. Turner & Sons in Decatur on Sunday, April 26, from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 27, at 1 p.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Atlanta. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1438 Sheridan Road, Atlanta 30324, or Engineering Ministries International, 130 East Kiowa, Suite 200, Colorado Springs, CO 80903.
