Joseph ?Frank? Shoemaker, age 85, a long-time resident of Decatur, died July 1, 2007 at home. He was born in Switzerland, SC and was a retired watchmaker/jeweler. Frank was one of the principal founding fathers of St. Thomas More Parish and managed the Immaculata Shop. He was very active in the St. Vincent DePaul Society and the Knights of Columbus. Frank was a veteran of World War II where he served in the U. S. Coast Guard. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary Shoemaker; seven children, Annette Massey and husband Jerry, Irene Cawthon and husband Bill, Lisa Moore, Joe Shoemaker and wife KiHwan, Tim Shoemaker and wife Janet, Robert Shoemaker and wife Anne, James Shoemaker; 20 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Frank and his wife Mary have touched many lives through their charitable works and generosity.
