Joseph Freeman Hilsman, age 83, passed away Sunday, July 25, 2010 at St. George Village surrounded by his loved ones. He and his beloved wife and soul mate of 63 years, Mary Helen Thomas Hilsman, resided in Stockbridge, Georgia prior to his illness. Freeman is survived by his wife; three daughters, Cheryl Campbell, Jan Eskew, and Penny Whitley; two grandsons, Brant and Shay; 4 granddaughters, Shauna, Taris, Kendra, and Britney; and 10 great grandchildren. Freeman was a veteran of the US Navy serving in World War II from 1945-1946. He was self employed with Brake Specialty Company for 45 years. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons at 11 A.M. Wednesday, July 28th. Interment will follow in Fairview Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Shriners. The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 P.M. Tuesday at A. S. Turner & Sons.
