Campbell, Jr. Joseph Herman
Joseph Herman Campbell, Jr., was born on May 19, 1944 and passed away peacefully on July 31, 2013 after a brief illness. Joe was born and raised in Decatur, Georgia. He graduated from Decatur High School in 1962. He received his undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University and was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. He continued his education by earning a law degree from Emory University. He practiced law briefly in Atlanta before moving to San Francisco. There he worked for several Title Companies. He met his life partner, Charles Mueller shortly after arriving in San Francisco. Joe and Charles spent many happy years together traveling and meeting good friends and interesting people. Charles died suddenly of a heart attack in 1982. Joe continued to live in San Francisco until he returned to Atlanta to help care for his aging parents. Joe is survived by his two sisters, Betty and her husband M. Lawrence Walker, Linda and her husband Brad Hull and brother James P. Campbell and his wife Joanne. Joe is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and many dear friends. The family will receive friends at A.S.Turner's Funeral Home, Decatur at 10:00 AM and will proceed to the Decatur Cemetery for a graveside service at 11:00 AM.
