Joseph T. Butler

March 10, 1924 — February 12, 2011

Joseph T. Butler, 86 of Stone Mountain, died Saturday February 12, 2011. He was a graduate of Decatur Boys High and the University of Georgia after proudly serving his country in World War 11. He was a participant in the D-Day invasion landing on Omaha Beach, 29th Division. He married Jeanne Curtis in 1948. He retired from McLean Trucking after 26 years of service in sales, but went on to open his own janitorial supply company (Tucker Industrial Supply) which he enjoyed until 2008. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years. Jeanne, a brother, Bill Butler, his daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Jim Stewart, his daughter, Denise Butler, granddaughter, Jamie Wells and her husband, Chris, grandson Jason Stewart and two great-grandchildren, Tyler Wells and Addison Wells. Graveside services with military honors will be held at Decatur Cemetery at 11:00 am on Tuesday February 15, 2011. Friends may meet with the family immediately following the service. A.S.
