Joseph William Fiorenza

December 25, 1996 — May 30, 2021

Joseph William Fiorenza left us too early on May 30, 2021. Born on December 25, 1996, a surprise Christmas baby (thanks Grandma!). A whole month early, but he was strong!! Joseph had many interests and hobbies. He had a passion for sports. He tried soccer and karate but his true love was baseball. He started his baseball career at the young age of five and he never stopped until he graduated high school. He was a member of the Lakeside High School JV and Varsity teams his whole high school career. He loved professional sports teams and avidly followed the Atlanta Braves, Atlanta Falcons, and Atlanta Hawks.

Joseph also loved the outdoors. He was involved in Boy Scouting at IHM from a young Bear Cub to achieving Scouting’s highest rank of Eagle Scout in February 2015. He was also a lifeguard at several local pools during summer breaks. He loved dogs. His best friend Molly was always at his side taking long walks and giving furry belly rubs. Joseph was also very musical. He played upright bass in the Lakeside High School Orchestra. He also learned how to play the acoustic guitar and electric guitar. Joseph went to college at College of Charleston in 2015 and received a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing in 2019. He made many friends there and Charleston will always hold a special place in our hearts.

Joseph had the best smile! (even though he did not like brushing his teeth). He was very personable and could carry on conversation with anyone, a non stop talker. We always joked he would make a good politician!

Joseph is survived by his mother Sandra Fiorenza and his father James Fiorenza, brother James Fiorenza and sister Carly Fiorenza, paternal Grandmother Lucille Fiorenza, and numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and Friends. Preceded in death are his maternal Grandmother Judy Wegert, maternal Grandfather Harry Wegert, and paternal Grandfather James Fiorenza. He will be missed everyday.

A funeral mass will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church on June 7, 2021 at 11:00 am.

Go in peace, Joseph.
