Judy Kathleen Shadburn was born August 20, 1949, to the late Cothran Eugene Kilgo and Jewel Kathleen Kilgo in Atlanta, Georgia. She was the only daughter of three and had two brothers Butch and Ronald Jerry Kilgo. She married the late John Daniel Shadburn Sr. in 1968, and they raised three children together in Atlanta. Judy had a very outgoing personality and loved good food and socializing. She loved arts and crafts as hobbies and was an keen bargain deal shopper who mastered the art of coupon shopping. Her interests included her family, gardening and reading. She enjoyed going to the movies and local events with family and friends. Judy devoted much of her time and energy as the "lady with the lamp" to many family members. She treasured her family and friends and made it her business to keep up with everyone with frequent visits and phone calls. Judy was not afraid to speak her mind and always had you laughing at her amusing anecdotes. Judy studied the bible with Jehovah's Witnesses. She was baptized in July of 1997. She knew of Jehovah's promise of a paradise earth where no one will say 'I am sick" and death will be done away with. Judy maintained her trust and loyalty to Jehovah by adhering to bloodless medical care. Judy touched the lives of many people with her smile and generosity, and maintained her trademark sense of love all the way to the end. Judy's final weeks were spent surrounded by family and friends that Judy had touched in some small way throughout her influential and memorable life. She fell asleep in death on Thursday, January 19, 2011. A.S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home and Crematory.
